Joe Pass
Short biography/profile
January 13, 1929 - May 23, 1993 Born in: New Brunswick, New Jersey. Style of Jazz: Most famous for his "solo Jazz guitar style", but also considered a Bebop musician as well. Influences: Django Reinhardt, Charlie Parker Recommended albums: The "Virtuoso" recordings (demonstrating his amazing solo guitar skills) but also "Chops" with Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen, amongst many others of course. Trivia: Joe Pass' success is partly due to his father, who inspite the fact that he himself was not a musician, seemed to push Joe in all the right directions, and gave him musical advice which later made Pass the musician he became. |
